Magic By Russell

BIO for Russell Scoggin:

I became interested in the art and performance of magic in 1971 at the age of eight, after seeing my first magic show at my elementary school. A lot of kids will pick up an interest in magic for a little while, but then get bored with it and lose their interest for it. I never did lose my interest in magic. I kept my interest up and wanted to always learn more. Magic isn't just doing tricks, but a real work of performance art and showmanship that will leave your audience wanting more. I started performing shows for money when I was in Jr. High School. I performed part-time while I was attending Texas Tech University and afterwards, as I worked a full-time job in advertising. I would do performances during the evenings and on weekends. Then in 1991, I decided to start performing full-time, and have been doing so ever since.

I perform both close-up and larger shows or a combination of both. I perform for a variety of organizations and events including parties, civic events, churches, schools, clubs, business meetings, banquets, restaurants, conventions, tradeshows, or any other event requiring my services. I can perform for small or very large audiences. I can perform close-up magic for any time limit that is required and a larger show for any time limit from 10 minutes up to an hour and a half. I have numerous shows so I can perform different shows for groups or events requiring multiple shows. I can perform for kids, adults or a mixture of both. I use a unique blend of comedy and magic in a professional yet courteous manner using a lot of audience participation to create the unforgettable event you desire. During my performances, I use coins, cards, rope, mentalism, escapes, colorful and visual props and other objects and themes. I stay away from insulting and racial tricks that make anyone look foolish or degrading. My main goal is to entertain and to create a great rapport with my audiences!
